Day 1 – Soraypampa & Humantay Lake

Start in Soraypampa. After a warm-up walk, you hike up to the stunning Humantay Lake, sitting at the base of a glacier. The views are breathtaking.
You avoid the big tourist groups and enjoy a peaceful hike.

Day 2 – Soraypampa to Collpapampa

• Hiking time: 8–9 hours
• Max altitude: 4,650 m (Salkantay Pass)
This is the most challenging and beautiful day. You cross the impressive Salkantay Pass at 4,650 m, then descend through changing landscapes – from snowy mountains to lush high jungle.

Day 3 – Collpapampa to Llaqtapata to Aguas Calientes
• Distance: ~18–20 km
• Hiking time: 8 hours
• Altitude range: 2,000 – 2,800 m
Walk through tropical forest to reach Llaqtapata, an archaeological site with views over Machu Picchu. Then continue to Hydroelectrica and hike along the train tracks to Aguas Calientes.

Day 4 – Machu Picchu & Return
• Distance: ~3–4 km (inside the site)
• Hiking time: 2–3 hours
Early in the morning, visit Machu Picchu with your guide. After the guided tour, return by bus and transport back to Cusco.
